If you haven’t seen it in a while, or perhaps ever, I have to say the The Last Samurai is one of the best films I have seen in years.
It’s amazingly well crafted, the cinematography is extraordinary, and Tom Cruise’s performance is, in my opinion, the best of his illustrious career.
Best of all, the story, based on true events, shows the transcendant nature of the human spirit when everything is on the line.
Watch it, and be ready to shed a tear, even though the ultimate message is one of joy.
